The Veiled Chairs · Eight

All eight of the Veiled Chairs, painted in 1998 and 1999, each 120 × 100 cm in the original. Chairs under cloths in grey-green, white, sea green, and blue and white above; red, ultramarine, red again and olive below, before bands of blue, red and turquoise. The complete series, hung in two rows of four.

All eight are portrait sheets in the same size. The set is offered at 8 × 10 in. Hung as two rows of four it needs about 38 × 22 inches, with 2 inches between the sheets.

Printed to order on Hahnemühle German Etching, 310 gsm, with pigment inks, in the United States. Every sheet carries a white border and the artwork sits inside it at its own proportions, so nothing is cropped to fit the paper. Each sheet ships with its own certificate and its own registration number.

Open edition. These prints are not numbered and not capped. The sheets are not signed by hand; where the artist's name appears on them, it is a printed facsimile applied by the estate. This is a posthumous edition: the original works date from the artist's lifetime; the prints are made after his death in 2018.
