Three great cats in profile, and each time the colour changes: blue-grey and translucent before bands of ochre and pale blue; rose-red against a pale mauve ground, flat as a paper cut; dark and almost transparent against grey-green, a band of dusty rose below. Peter Wirth returned to this figure more than once. Hung together, the three read blue, red, blue.

All three are landscape sheets in the same size. Hung as a row of three they need about 34 × 8 inches at 8 × 10 in, or 46 × 11 inches at 11 × 14 in, with 2 inches between the sheets.

Printed to order on Hahnemühle German Etching, 310 gsm, with pigment inks, in the United States. Every sheet carries a white border, and the artwork sits inside it at its own proportions — the whole picture, exactly as painted. Each sheet ships with its own certificate and its own registration number.
